FreeX WiFiMAX Quick Start Guide | Step-by-Step Setup Tutorial

🚨 This setup guide is ONLY for FreeX WiFiMAX, NOT for FreeX WiFi or FreeX USB model.

Step 1: Connect Your FreeX WiFiMAX to Your Wi-Fi Network

1.1 Power Up and Load Labels

  • Plug in your FreeX printer using the provided power cable.

  • Feed your labels into the printer.

1.2 Turn On the Printer

Find the power switch at the bottom back of the printer and switch it on. The indicator light will turn on as the printer starts up.

  • 💡 Troubleshooting Tip:
If the indicator light flashes red, it means the labels are either missing or incorrectly loaded. Check that:
    ✔ Labels are properly inserted.
✔ The label guides are adjusted correctly.
✔ The label roll is facing the right direction.

1.3 Join the FreeX WiFi Network

  • The indicator light should be a steady (non-flashing) solid blue.
  • Wait about 1-2 minutes: Using any device (smartphone, tablet, or computer), connect to the WiFi network named in the format "FreeX_XXXX" (refer below).

Troubleshooting Tip:
If the FreeX WiFi network does not appear:

  • Restart the printer by turning it off and then on again, and wait for the network to show up.

  • Alternatively, press the FEED button on the top of the printer for 6 seconds. You should hear three sets of beep-beep sounds. This manually restarts the FreeX WiFi hotspot (without needing to power cycle the printer). The light should remain solid blue. When the hotspot is active, you will see the WiFi network named in the format "FreeX_XXXX".

  • If above doesn't work, try to connect the FreeX WiFi hotspot from another device.

1.4 Configure Your Local Wi-Fi Connection

  • Once connected to the FreeX WiFi network, a pop-up setup page will automatically appear on your device.

  • Click the "Rescan" button on the setup page to display available local home/office Wi-Fi networks.

Troubleshooting Tip:
If your local Wi-Fi network does not appear, it might be because your router is broadcasting on a frequency other than 2.4GHz.

  • Solution: Configure your router to support a 2.4GHz network, either by enabling a hybrid 2.4GHz/5GHz/6GHz mode or by establishing a standalone 2.4GHz IoT network (the IoT network can have a different name as long as it originates from the same router, all modern routers support extra IoT network).

1.5 Join Your Local WiFi

  • Enter your WiFi password and click the "Join Wi-Fi Network" button.

  • The setup page will automatically close. Wait 1-2 minutes for your FreeX WiFiMAX to connect to your local Wi-Fi network.

  • The light will turn solid green once your FreeX WiFiMAX successfully connects to your local Wi-Fi network.

1.6 Confirmation Printout

  • Once the printer successfully connects, it will automatically print a WiFi configuration page displaying the local Wi-Fi IP address and SSID (WiFi Network Name).

Step 2: Start Printing

  • Print from any device connected to the same routereven if it’s not on the exact same Wi-Fi network (as long as it is connected through the same router).
