I upgraded from a Brother QL-1110NWB. While that was also a network printer, getting it to work with my Mac always felt like a science project, involving special drivers and weird software. The FreeX WiFiMAX with AirPrint is what the Brother SHOULD have been. It just... shows up. On my mac, on my iphone, no drivers, no software, no fuss. The all-in-one design is also a huge space saver compared to the Brother's bulky external roll holder. A true upgrade in every way.

I hate admitting when slick marketing gets me, but this printer is genuinely great. I was a skeptic, but the AirPrint works flawlessly and the internal roll holder is a genius piece of industrial design. It's made my shipping workflow so much smoother. So why 4 stars? THE POWER BRICK. It's one of those giant, clunky ones that takes up three spots on my power strip. For a product so focused on a clean, minimal aesthetic, having this massive black brick tethered to it is a major design oversight. It's a shame.

As a paralegal, I'm constantly printing exhibit stickers and evidence labels, often hundreds at a time under a tight deadline. The speed of this printer is phenomenal. The direct thermal print doesn't smudge like our old inkjet, which is critical. Best of all, because it's AirPrint, our lawyers can print directly from their own MacBooks without having to constantly bug the IT department. It's a fantastic, efficient piece of office hardware.

No more copy/pasting addresses. This thing works so well with Shopify. Huge time saver.

My husband bought this for his sports card "business" that has taken over our dining room. I rolled my eyes at another expensive gadget. But... I have to admit, it's really nice. His old printer was loud and had a messy stack of labels behind it. This FreeX thing is really quiet and the labels are hidden inside so it just looks like a clean white box. It made his whole setup less of an eyesore.

This is the BIS printer for any streamer or gamer selling merch. Setup is easier than configuring a new scene in OBS. Just works. No fuss. Lets me get back to gaming instead of troubleshooting drivers.

I hesitated because of the price. But then I did the math: no more $60 ink cartridges every few months, and I can buy thermal labels for half the price of the special inkjet label sheets I was using. This printer will pay for itself in less than a year. I was skeptical, but now I'm a total believer. The initial investment is worth it for the permanent savings.

After extensive research, I chose the WiFiMAX over the DYMO 5XL. My decision rested on three key points: 1) The FreeX has no label DRM; I can use any thermal label, which is a significant long-term cost advantage. 2) Native AirPrint support is a huge workflow benefit for an all-Apple household. 3) The physical footprint is smaller due to the internal roll. While the DYMO boasts a higher 300dpi, the 203dpi of the FreeX is perfectly adequate for crisp barcodes and text on shipping labels. I'm docking one star because the WiFi did require a single restart in its first month of use, indicating 98-99% stability, not 100%. Otherwise, a superior product for the prosumer.

I play bass in a touring band and handle our online merch store. This printer lives in a Pelican case in our van. At a truck stop, I tether it to my phone's hotspot, print the day's shipping labels, and we drop the packages at the next town's post office. It's been tossed around and has held up great. Surprisingly rugged.
