The instructions in the box are pretty minimal. I had to watch a YouTube video to figure out how to feed the label roll properly. But once I got it, it's been working perfectly ever since.

I bought this thinking "WiFi" meant I could print directly from the Shopify app on my iPad. It doesn't. You need a computer (Windows/Mac) to run the print driver. The marketing should be clearer that it isn't AirPrint compatible. The printer itself works fine from my laptop, but it didn't solve the specific problem I bought it for. Keeping it, but a bit let down.

Setup was painless, and the WiFi connection has held strong even when I walk into the next room (no more endless reconnects like I used to with ROLLO). Printing at 170 mm/s at 203 dpi, it cranked out 500 labels in under three minutes, and I haven’t had to reload paper in weeks (150 km lifespan is real!). Also, zero ink or toner means I can keep any brand of labels on hand without breaking the bank. It plays nice with ShipStation, Pirate Ship, and Etsy’s printing interface. EDIT (6 months later): Still running like a dream. No hiccups, no complaints.
I run my whole Shopify store from my phone and iPad. I bought this because it said "WiFi," and I just assumed that meant I could print directly from the Shopify app. Nope. You can't. You still need a computer to act as the middleman. The product page should be a lot clearer that this does NOT support AirPrint or printing from iOS/Android. It's a good printer, but it doesn't do the one thing I bought it for. Disappointed.

I just gleefully tossed my old, hated Canon inkjet printer into the garbage. This thermal printer is a revelation. I was probably spending $40 a month on ink just to ship 5-10 packages a week. This printer cost the same as 3 months of ink and will never need a drop. No brainer.
My old ROLLO printer needed a separate, bulky stand for the label roll, which took up a ton of precious desk space. The all-in-one design of the Freex is brilliant. The entire unit is compact and clean. It feels like a true gen-2 product compared to the competition. Plus, the WiFi is more reliable. A+ upgrade.
